Hand Drawn contest

I've entered another Spoonflower contest, this one using hand drawn patterns only.
Lots of people loved it but I didn't make it to the final.
But it is a lot of fun and gives me some exposure.

Another contest

I've entered another Spoonflower contest and didn't win of course.
This one was called Urban Sightings, and you had to choose one or more pictures provided by them, and design a fabric that visually related to your choice.
I chose this photo.

And this is the design I created.

I named it "Life under foot". My garden is paved with this pattern, and these are the things I see living on the pavement.

An old Idea revisited

I made this ceramic tiles some 15 years ago.

Recently I decided to reuse them to create a repeat pattern. I also added a coordinate which is based on the Mioporum, an Australian native ground cover.

Collections

This is the latest thing I've learned from Spoonflower.
How to design and organize my patterns into Collections.

Ditsy Prints

Ditsy prints are by definition tiny patterns scattered randomly.
Spoonflower run a contest for ditsy prints titled Ditsy Sea Creatures.
I entered this pattern of Ditsy Fish.

Ditsy Fish
I didn't win, but got some very nice comments. Since I started entering some of their contests, more and more people have started looking at my work on the Spoonflower website.
Sadly I still don't know how to interact with those people using social media like twitter or facebook.
I guess I'll have to learn.

Beautiful fabrics

My fabric samples from Spoonflower have arrived.
They are beautifully printed, but one of the designs just doesn't have the right background colour.
I have had a bit of trouble with reds and pinks. What I see on my computer screen does not print the same.
I'm learning how to overcome that problem, but Roman is going to try and match the computer colours to the printed ones.
Overall the results are fantastic.
