Market Goods 1-Tea cosies

In December 2012 I exhibited my homewares for the first time at the George Street Crafters Market in East Fremantle.
In the excitement of it all I forgot my camera at home and as a consequence I have no photos of the event to post on this blog.
I must say that I did very well, with the help of Audrey (super sales woman of the day) and Winnie, who manned the stall all day with me.
Today's post is about the Tea cosies I made for the market, all of them made from my own Spoonflower fabrics.

Wall Decals

It's very trendy again to decorate your walls with stickers. Lots of online printing houses are now offering those products. My own printer Spoonflower is also offering that service.
I've tried printing some stickers using my Oz Animals design, minus the background colour.

Oz Animals wall decals
They come in a large sheet with all 6 animals, or separately in single or multiples. They peel easily and you can stick them elsewhere if you want to change the location or redecorate.
Here is a test one stuck on the back of my computer.

They are now for sale at my shop online.

Possum Rescue

This is Twist, a brush tail possum joey who lost his mum when he fell down a chimney through a chimney pot.

Meg rescued him, and as you can see she put him in a pouch she made using one of my Spoonflower fabrics. Watch the rescue live on camera here.

First patterns for 2013

I've been wanting to do some new designs with black swans for a while. I had to think about it really carefully because it is such a strong subject colourwise. It is just so dominant.
I decided on a toile type of pattern, a little bit kitch which I love, but without crossing into downright bad taste.

I'm happy with the result. I might use both to renovate an old chair I have stored away in the cellar.

Last contest for 2012

The last contest I entered this year was sponsored by the One-Yard Wonders books by Storey Publishing.
Contestants had to download a template for a little girl's Tshirt, and decorate it. The theme was "Under the Sea".
This is my entry.

Riviera Tee
I haven't tested it yet and it is too late for Christmas this year. I'll do it next year and then I'll have something to blog about again.
